Lambda Americas in San Diego is introducing Genesys programmable 3U power supplies with high output capacity, options for local and remote control, and compact construction for applications, such as electroplating, semiconductor manufacture, and industrial lasers. Despite their small size, the new Genesys 3U supplies are available with output capacities up to 15 kilowatts, which until recently would have required 5U power supplies, Lambda officials say. The devices offer zero stacking so that several units can go in standard racks without gaps. As many as four Genesys supplies can operate in parallel in a master/slave configuration. This arrangement behaves as if it were one power supply-reporting, for example, the total load rather than the individual load of each power supply. To ensure straightforward and economical interfacing with external equipment, the new power supplies feature an integral RS 232/RS 485 interface as standard. USB, LXI-compliant LAN, and IEEE488.2 SCPI multi-drop interfaces are options. For more information, contact Lambda online at www.lambdapower.com.
