Executives at Composite Engineering Inc. (CEi) in Sacramento, Calif., needed a wealth of avionics solutions for their work on the BQM-167A U.S. Air Force Sub-scale Aerial Target (AFSAT).

CEi personnel found the optimal avionics suite for the AFSAT application at Herley Industries Inc. in Lancaster, Pa. Herley Industries won a contract from CEi for its avionics suite, which will be incorporated into the BQM-167A AFSAT.

The contract calls for Herley Industries to deliver gulf range drone control system transponders, identification friend or foe transponders, electro-explosive devices, integrated flight controllers, radar altimeters, and power-management units.

“This package represents substantially all the electronics inside the target, and we expect that this will be an important program for many years,” Myron Levy, Herley Industries chairman and CEO, says. For additional information, visit Herley Industries Inc. online at www.herley.com.
