ITT Interconnect Solutions in Santa Ana, Calif., is offering receptacles for its KP Series circular military connectors. The sealed KP Series military connectors initially were developed for military applications, but also are well suited for industrial environments because of their reliability as harsh environment connectors. The military connectors are particularly useful in applications that require connect/disconnect mil-spec connectors, company officials say. In addition to military and aerospace connector applications, the KP series rugged connector family also is intended for automotive test equipment, camera and robotic systems, as well as engine, valve, and gearbox controls. The KP rugged connector receptacles have solder-to-board contacts and plug connectors in combination with customized end bells/adaptors. The receptacles are available with different solder pin diameters and lengths, while the plug connectors are fabricated with standard or customized end bells, or metric or PG adaptors. KP receptacles enable systems designers to use shielded or unshielded cable with several variations of cable glands, cable conduits, and shrink boots.
