HANSCOM AFB, Mass., 25 July 2012. Engineers at the Lockheed Martin (NYSE:LMT) Corp. Mission Systems & Sensors (MS2) segment in Owego, N.Y., will perform a major upgrade to early model F-16A/B jet fighters operated by the Royal Thai Air Force in Bangkok under terms of a $2.6 billion U.S. Air Force contract awarded this month.

The 2012 Farnborough International Airshow comes to an official end today with deals completed for about 800 aircraft worth $72 billion, which is up substantially from the Farnborough show two years ago when airplane manufacturers inked deals worth a collective $47 billion for about 835 aircraft.

Helicopter designer AgustaWestland, a Finmeccanica company based in Samarate, Italy, and Farnborough, England, has signed agreements to provide 70 helicopters this week at the Farnborough International Airshow in Farnborough, England. On Thursday AgustaWestland took orders for three VIP AW169 helicopters from Linfox, a supply-chain-management company based in Australia. Linfox will use the twin-engine medium-lift helicopter for corporate transport in the Melbourne area of Australia, AgustaWestland officials say.

The sales came from Aviation Capital Group, Avolon and Juneyao and will be used on Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, Next-Generation 737 aircraft, A321 aircraft and A320neo aircraft.
