Rugged Intel Atom-based PC/104 Express embedded computing board introduced by ADL Embedded

SAN DIEGO, 5 March 2012. ADL Embedded Solutions Inc. in San Diego is introducing the ADLD2700PC rugged PC/104 Express (PCIe/104) single-board computer for portable applications in extended-temperatures and other kinds of harsh environments. The embedded computing module has the Intel Atom D2700 microprocessor, integrated graphics, and memory controller functions.

UPPER SADDLE RIVER, N.J., 1 March 2012. Pentek Inc. in Upper Saddle River, N.J., is introducing the Cobalt model 71670 digital-to-analog converter (D/A) converter with on-board Xilinx Virtex-6 field-programmable gate array (FPGA) for synchronous beamforming radar and multichannel transceiver systems. The Cobalt 71670 D/A converter module for RF and IF waveform playback delivers four independent analog outputs each through its own digital upconverter and 16-bit D/A with sampling rates to 1.25 GHz. The FPGA has factory-installed turnkey waveform playback functionality for output signal bandwidths to 250 MHz.

Hudson, N.H., Mar. 1, 2012. BAE showcased the AN/SQQ-32(V)4 High Frequency Wide Band (HFWB) detection sonar upgrade to the in-service AN/SQQ-32(V)3 Mine Hunting Sonar Set. The new upgrade will increase the range and clarity of the sonar. In addition BAE announced the delivery of the second AN/SQQ-32(V)4 to the U.S. Navy in Sasebo, Japan as part of a $27.5 million contract to provide nine upgraded systems and spares to the navy under terms of the "Build to Print" order.

The fanless computer is for harsh-environment uses and offers a wide range power supply and IP65 protection, Eurotech officials say.

QUIMPER, France, 28 Feb. 2012. Interface Concept in Quimper, France, is introducing the IC-INT-VPX3a 3U OpenVPX single-board computer for mid-range embedded computing applications with low-power requirements. The CPU board is based on the Freescale QorIQ P3041 microprocessor with quad core e500mc PowerPC processors operating at speeds as fast as 1.5 GHz.

ARLINGTON, Texas, 27 Feb. 2012. WinSystems debuts its 25-watt PS-RS25-5 and 50-watt PS-RS50-5 small, convection-cooled, AC/DC power supplies for embedded systems. The PS-RS25-5 measures 79 x 51 x 28mm, whereas the PS-RS50-5 measures 99 x 97 x 36mm.

(NASDAQ:MRCY) in Chelmsford, Mass., is introducing two Express Mezzanine Card (XMC) modules -- the Echotek series RFM-251-XMC tuner, and the wideband ACM-V-XMC digital transceiver -- to capture signals in real-time across a wide range of frequencies for electronic warfare (EW) and signals intelligence (SIGINT) applications. The XMCs are available in ruggedized versions.
