Motorized vertical lift stages for test and measurement and design and development tools introduced by OES
VAN NUYS, Calif. – Optimal Engineering Systems Inc. (OES) in Van Nuys, Calif., is introducing the AT20-30 series of motorized vertical lift stages for aerospace and defense scientific research, industrial automation, and materials handling.
The stages for test and measurement feature featuring sub-micron resolution, high parallelism and a vertical lift of 30 millimeters. The AT20-30-01 is driven by a two-phase stepper motor that features a repeatability of 5 microns, positional accuracy of 15 microns, and a full-step resolution of 0.2 microns. This stepper motor driven stage also has a knob for manual adjustment.
The AT20-30-02 is driven by a brushless DC servo motor with a quadrature incremental encoder and the AT20-30-03 is driven by a brushed DC servo motor with a quadrature incremental encoder. Each of the servo motor options, the -02 and -03 versions, offer faster travel speeds.
Two-phase stepper motor
The AT20-30-04 design and development tools is driven by a two-phase stepper motor that has a Quadrature Incremental Encoder for position verification. The 500-by-300-millimeter stage table has a pattern of threaded mounting holes, and the rigid box construction of the moving component of the elevator stage travels on six slide rails always assuring smooth vertical travel and high parallelism of the table to the mounting surface.
The 100-kilogram load capacity of the AT20-30 series stages allows for positioning of multi-axis stages, flasks, stirrers, hot plates, and other lab equipment, testing, inspection, assembly, sampling, laser drilling and machining, in a broad range of industrial, medical, semiconductor, and research applications.
The AT20-30 motorized vertical lift stage (lowered position) is 269 millimeters high and weighs 35 kilograms. Constructed of black-anodized aluminum alloy and steel shafting, it incorporates a center-mounted precision-ground lead screw with a transmission ratio of 40 microns per motor revolution.
Additionally, the stage has access from all four sides. Limit switches prevent over-travelling and the large base plate has easy access to mounting holes. The AT20-30 vertical lift stage series also is available as a plug-and-play system with a motion controller, drivers, keypad, and joystick.
