The press-fit circuit board connectors offer an electrical and mechanical connection between the connector and the circuit board that is able to help withstand mechanical abuse such as shock and vibration. MIL-STD-1553B data bus systems have met the demanding performance requirements of military aircraft platforms for more than 30 years and are still being specified in 21st century military aircraft such as the F-35.
