BOCA RATON, Fla., 9 May 2016. IMPERX Inc. in Boca Raton, Fla., is introducing the PUMA 2MP high-definition day/night camera for light-starved electro-optical applications such as surveillance, military, scientific and medical imaging, as well as intelligent transportation systems.

The IMPERX PUMA combines ON Semiconductor's interline transfer (IT) CCD pixel design with an electron multiplication (EM) output structure. It enables image sensor solutions that deliver sub-electron noise performance with CCD-class image quality and uniformity for low-light imaging.

This technology, can capture 1920-by-1080-pixel video in scenes with widely varying lighting conditions, from sunlight to starlight and from highlights to shadows, thereby greatly extending the imaging capability of a single camera imaging system.

The camera also offers image-enhancing pre-processing features with programmable and automatic settings. The Puma series is ruggedized and designed to MIL SPEC 810F specifications, and operates in temperatures from -40 to 70 degrees Celsius.
