NEW BEDFORD, Mass. – Cornell Dubilier Electronics Inc. in New Bedford, Mass., is introducing the company's Type RA multilayered film capacitors that operate in military temperature ranges for demanding applications in armored combat vehicles and aerospace applications.

Type RA capacitors are built to operate in temperatures as hot as 125 degrees Celsius using stacked metallized polyester protected with an impregnated sealant, which eliminates the need for an external case.

This package style offers high-energy-density technology for switching power supplies, DC to DC converters, and other high ripple current applications.

Type RA capacitors are impregnated with a microcrystalline polymer sealant and exterior tape wrap that protects the capacitor element from moisture, which enables it meet 85 C at 85 percent RH requirements.

Available in capacitance values ranging from 0.1 to 10 microfarads, voltage ratings of 100, 250, 400, and 500 volts DC, Type RA capacitors are terminated with radial leads to cover applications in power electronics where high density capacitors are necessary for board-level DC filtering.

Cornell Dubilier RA capacitors series are available through distributors. For more information contact Cornell Dubilier online at www.cde.com.
