U.S. Navy places $12.9 million order with Flir Systems for its long-range, multi-sensor imaging systems

Portland, Ore., 11 September 2006. Flir Systems Inc. has received an order from the U.S. Navy for long-range, multi-sensor imaging systems valued at $12.9 million. The system, known as High Performance Mobility Flir, is based on the SeaFlir III imaging system and includes a laser rangefinder, a choice of mid- or large-format thermal imager, an image intensified TV, and laser pointer coupled with navigational inputs to provide precise geo-locating capability.

The High Performance Mobility Flir can be integrated into command and control systems and can be installed on a variety of platforms for use in search and rescue or
intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance. The work will be performed at Flir's North Billerica, Mass., production facility. Production will commence immediately.
