Systems integrators at the Boeing Avionics Integration Laboratory in Seattle received the first AN/APG-77 radar hardware and software from the Northrop Grumman Electronic Sensors and Systems Division in Baltimore. The hardware consists of an active electronically scanned array antenna and various other electronic units. Boeing avionics engineers will integrate the radar equipment with the F-22 avionics mission software and other aircraft sensors such as the electronic warfare, communications, navigation, and information systems. The second F-22 radar aboard a modified Boeing 757 jetliner has been in flight test since last November. Building the AN/APG-77 radar for the F-22 are engineers at Northrop Grumman and at Raytheon TI Systems in Dallas. - J.K.
