Rugged solid-state data storage for aerospace and defense applications introduced by X-ES
MIDDLETON, Wis., 11 Aug. 2011. Extreme Engineering Solutions Inc. (X-ES) in Middleton, Wis., is introducing the XAct3000 rugged solid state storage system. The natural convection-cooled sub-half-AIR system supports between 1 3.5 terabytes of solid state storage. By configuring the JBODs or RAID units and connecting it to an Ethernet network, users can start storing and retrieving files, X-ES officials say. The XAct3000 supports ATA secure erase and meets the erase requirements of DOD NISPOM 5220.22 and NSA/CSS 9-12 specifications. The rugged Network Attached Storage (NAS) system supports NFS, SMB/CIFS, FTP, SFTP, and HTTP protocols. Data encryption is also available for the system.
