COM-Express module for low-power factory automation and transportation applications introduced by Advantech

Ltd. in Milpitas, Calif., is introducing the SOM-7564 COM-Express Ultra embedded computing module for factory automation, transportation, and point-of-sale applications that require ultra-low power consumption. The module is powered by the Intel Atom processor E6xx microprocessor, and uses the open PCI-Express standard that enables connection to third party chips. The module is R2.0 type 10 compliant for ultra-low power consumption. SOM-7564 is designed with only the CPU on module, which enables users to pick a I/O hub for their requirements.
