6U CompactPCI embedded computing board based on 2nd Gen Intel Core i7 introduced by X-ES

MIDDLETON, Wis., 20 Jan. 2011. Extreme Engineering Solutions Inc. (X-ES) in Middleton, Wis., is introducing the XCalibur4401 6U CompactPCI single-board computer based on the 2nd Gen Intel Core i7 processor for military, communications, radar, image processing, and digital signal processing. The embedded computing board is available in conduction- or air-cooled versions, and uses the processor's dual- or quad-core technology operating at speeds as fast as to 2.5 GHz.

MIDDLETON, Wis., 20 Jan. 2011. Extreme Engineering Solutions Inc. (X-ES) in Middleton, Wis., is introducing the XCalibur4401 6U CompactPCI single-board computer based on the 2nd Gen Intel Core i7 processor for military, communications, radar, image processing, and digital signal processing.

The embedded computing board is available in conduction- or air-cooled versions, and uses the processor's dual- or quad-core technology operating at speeds as fast as to 2.5 GHz.

The XCalibur4401 single-board computer comes with Intel Hyper-Threading Technology and Intel QM67 Express chipset, and a default processor of the Intel Dual Core i7-2655LE, 2.2 GHz base frequency, and 4 megabytes cache.

Alternate processors configurations include the 2.1 GHz Intel Quad Core i7-2715QE with six megabytes cache; the 2.5 GHz Intel Dual Core i5-2515E with three megabytes cache; the 1.5 GHz Intel Dual Core i7-2610UE with four megabytes cache; and the Intel Quad and Dual Core-compatible Ivy Bridge processors.

The XCalibur4401 has as much as 16 gigabytes of DDR3-1333 ECC SDRAM in two channels; as much as 128 gigabytes of user flash and 32 megabytes of boot flash; front- and rear-panel Gigabit Ethernet ports; rear-panel USB 2.0 high-speed ports; rear-panel SATA 3.0 gigabits per second ports; front- and rear-panel graphics ports; two PrPMC/XMC sites; compliance with PICMG 2.0, 2.1, 2.3, 2.9, and 2.16.

Software support includes Green Hills Integrity Board Support Package (BSP) , Wind River VxWorks BSP, QNX Neutrino BSP, Linux BSP, and Windows drivers. For more information contact X-ES online at www.xes-inc.com.
