SANTA BARBARA, Calif., 4 Jan. 2012. Green Hills Software in Santa Barbara, Calif., is offering a major upgrade to the company's flagship real-time operating system (RTOS) called Integrity 11, which includes performance, security, reliability, and communications improvements for the latest real-time, mission-critical embedded computing systems.
Integrity 11 real-time software provides an optimized communications mechanism called Green Hills IPC (GIPC), which is five times faster than Linux AF_LOCAL sockets, company officials say. Native Integrity, as well as Linux processes, executing in virtual machines, can take advantage of GIPC.
The Integrity 11 network stack also includes support for additional RFCs and capabilities, such as equal cost multi-path (ECMP) routing. The enhanced real-time operating supports POSIX APIs and middleware such as DDS and CORBA.
When integrated with the Green Hills MULTI 6 integrated development environment, Integrity 11 takes advantage of faster build speeds and improvements in code size and speed from the Green Hills compiler. Integrity 11 includes new resource management middleware to help partition system resources across security domains while providing an API to allocate resources within each domain. Resource managers can be instantiated in simple groups or hierarchically.
