L-3 GS&ES receives contract position to support U.S. Air Force

NEW YORK, Jan. 27, 2012. L-3 Communications' Global Security & Engineering Solutions (L-3 GS&ES) unit was awarded an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (ID/IQ) contract to support the U.S. Air Force under the fourth installment of the Contracted Advisory and Assistance Services (CAAS IV) program. The CAAS IV program consists of multiple ID/IQ contract awards and has an estimated funding ceiling of $4.7 billion over the next eight years. As one of 29 firms selected as ID/IQ award winners, L-3 is now qualified to compete for task orders under the program.

CAAS IV will be used to supply the Air Force and other Department of Defense (DoD) organizations with a variety of professional services, analytic support and management expertise. L-3 GS&ES and its antecedent units have been involved with each installment of the contract since it was originally created in 1996.

The L-3 GS&ES-led team includes a mix of small and large businesses with core competencies in such areas as mission capabilities analysis, weapon systems modernization, intelligence collection and analysis, training and instruction, environmental management, and information technology services. Team L-3 also includes several other L-3 divisions, which, taken together, provide a unified and cohesive approach and access to comprehensive resources to address any service requirements needed by the U.S. Air Force.

Headquartered in Chantilly, Va., L-3 GS&ES has locations throughout the United States and worldwide. The company’s core competencies include integrated security and sustainment solutions, knowledge management, program management, systems engineering and integration, and training solutions.

Headquartered in New York City, L-3 Communications is a prime contractor in C3ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) systems, aircraft modernization and maintenance, and government services. L-3 is also a provider of a broad range of electronic systems used on military and commercial platforms.
