3-D models for MIL-STD-1553, USB, and mini-PCI Express boards introduced by DDC to ease design

BOHEMIA, N.Y., 15 July 2012. Data Device Corp. (DDC) in Bohemia, N.Y., is introducing 3-D models for the company's MIL-STD-1553 small form factor BU-67113U USB and BU-67114H mini-PCI Express boards to enable engineers to conduct an exact fit analysis to integrate the boards into their embedded systems or laptop computer designs without the need to have any physical hardware present.

These 3-D SolidWorks models can streamline integration by providing engineers with precise component dimension and location information. Benefits include reduced integration time; detailed fit analysis; and quick time-to-market, DDC officials say.

"With the release of these 3-D models engineers can get a head start on design integration independent of procurement processes, saving valuable engineering time and effort while yielding accelerated time to market," says George Los, DDC's data bus product manager.
