PORTSMOUTH, England, 7 Aug. 2012. Harwin plc in Portsmouth, England, is introducing commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) Datamate three-row connectors for use in board-to-board or cable-to-board military, aerospace, industrial, and medical embedded computing applications that require many contacts in a small space.

Stocked in five different configurations of printed circuit board and cable variants and in six standard sizes from 18 to 96 ways, the 2-millimeter pitch 3A per contact connectors provide a small circuit board footprint, company officials say.

A high-density connector system, three-row Datamate connectors feature as many as 96 signal contacts in standard sizes of 18, 27, 36, 54, 60, and 96 signal contacts arranged in three rows. Designed for mating with 22 AWG and 24 to 28 AWG wire sizes, the devices are available with vertical or horizontal circuit board tails.
