Curtiss-Wright offers event analysis tool to embedded systems software development suite

ASHBURN, Va., 28 Feb. 2013. Curtiss-Wright Controls Defense Solutions in Ashburn, Va., is adding an event analysis tool to the company's CHAMP-AV8 Continuum Insights 5.1 suite of software tools for design and development.

The event analysis tool provides a multi-node extension of The Wind River System Viewer that enables System Viewer it to show events from many processing nodes operating in parallel, which is useful for high-performance embedded computing (HPEC) development, company officials say.

CHAMP-AV8 Continuum Insights 5.1 is a set of graphic user interface (GUI)-based system monitoring, system management. and multi-processor debug software tools for software engineers writing application code for multiprocessor embedded multicomputer systems.

Continuum Insights helps software programmers see the entire system as a collection of real-time data that is periodic and non-intrusive. The tool helps programmers tune their system and shorten development time.

Continuum Insights is built using the Wind River WorkBench and Eclipse Development and Application Frameworks, which draw from the open source community. The tool harnesses complementary products such as Continuum BSP, Continuum Vector Signal Processing Libraries, and Continuum IPC Inter-Processor Communication Library.

Curtiss-Wright supports Continuum Insights on the company's line of VPX-based single-board computers, digital signal processors, and field-programmable gate array processors such as the CHAMP-AV8, CHAMP-FX3, and VPX6-6902.
