BOHEMIA, N.Y., 9 Aug. 2013. Data Device Corp. (DDC) in Bohemia, N.Y, is introducing the RP-2032151XD0 32-channel, lightweight solid-state power controller (SSPC) for aircraft and other space-conscious aerospace and defense applications.

The power electronics device provides a total continuous current output capacity of 120 amps at 28 volts DC in a 3-pound box, along with a high channel count and advanced programmability.

The RP-2032 product family offers users significant size, weight, power and cost (SWaP-C) savings in addition to improved reliability and smart power control.

DDC's SSPCs support real-time digital status reporting and computer control, and are equipped with instant trip, and true I²T wire protection, rated to 300 amps continuous, and multi-channel boards that are rated to 25 amps continuous per channel.

Included in the SSPC product line are 270-volt DC units with current ratings of 2 through 15 amps, 28-volt DC units from 1 through 80 amps, and 115-volt AC units.

DDC was the first to offer commercial and qualified MIL-PRF-38534 and Class K Space-level screening for SSPC products. DDC supplies field-proven, high-reliability SSPCs for the Bradley Fighting Vehicles and the M1A2 tank, and is entering the aerospace market with lightweight products.

The unit offers 32 independent load channels; 5-, 10-, and 20-amp rated channels with 10:1 programmability; total continuous current output capacity of 120 amps; smart power management; network control; CAN bus J1939, RS-485, or RS-422; remote status monitoring and control; programmability; current trip point and channel paralleling; on/off defaults and load sequencing; load health and status monitoring; voltage, current, and SSPC temperature; autonomous alarms; and fast clearance of load channel faults.
