YOKNEAM, Israel, 27 Aug. 2013. Senso Optics Ltd. in Yokneam, Israel, is introducing the EDAN-FCS dedicated electro-optical day-and-night fire-control system for target acquisition, direct aiming, and firing of various gun systems in all weather conditions.

The EDAN-FCS -- direct aiming gun sighting system, incorporates a tactical fire-control-computer and gun sighting unit (EDAN POD).

Senso Optics has conducted a series of laboratory and field trials of its EDAN-FCS direct aiming gun sighting system, with high accuracy rates, company officials say. The system also demonstrated enhanced multi sensor performance during the testing.

The system is designed to provide soldiers with better clarity at all ranges, enabling target identification at greater stand-off ranges, says Jacob Dagan, Senso Optics president and CEO.

"Implementing EDAN-FCS will give the warfighters in the field an unfair advantage, especially at night, and Adverse weather conditions", Dagan says.

EDAN-FCS is an evolution of the Senso-Optics Advanced Gun Sighting System (AGSS) for artillery, which comprises an uncooled narrow field of view thermal sight, wide field of view thermal sight, day-sight, and eye-safe laser-range-finder for aiming and target acquisition.
