SAN DIEGO, 27 Oct. 2015. TDK-Lambda Americas Inc. in San Diego is introducing the CPFE1000FI baseplate conduction-cooled 1000-Watt power supplies for outdoor, sealed enclosure, communications and harsh environment industrial applications, including RF amplifier and ground-based satellite equipment.

When compared to TDK-Lambda's MIL-STD rated CPFE1000F, the overall product size has been reduced by 60 percent. The power electronics devices are capable of operating without forced-air cooling.

These single output power supplies operate with an input range of from 90 to 265 volts AC with PFC and are available with DC outputs of 12 volts, 28 volts (adjustable to 24 volts) or 48 volts DC.

Due to its wide output adjustment range of plus-or-minus 20 percent, the output voltage can be set to match a variety of applications. The outputs of these units can be connected in series or parallel for higher power applications. The units will operate at full load with baseplate temperatures of -40 to 85 degrees Celsius.

Case style options for the CPFE1000FI include a U channel, with or without a cover, or as a PCB assembly measuring 254 by 107 by 40 millimeters. A coating option also is available for all models, providing protection against humidity and the ingress of containments.

The PCB style is suitable for users who need a certified solution, but do not have the expertise or time to develop a custom power module based solution.

The CPFE1000F has an internal I2C bus interface that can send operational parameters of the power supply to remote locations. These parameters include output voltage, output current, baseplate temperature, serial number, model number, and date-code.

In addition, the I2C interface provides a means to turn the power supply On or Off from a remote site and receive DC Good and over-temperature signals. In addition to the I2C bus, traditional signals/controls are provided including an output good signal, remote on/off control, remote sense lines, active current-share, and an auxiliary output of 12 volts/20 milliamps.

The CPFE1000FI power supplies are certified to IEC/UL/CSA/EN 60950-1 and are CE marked for the low voltage and RoHS2 Directives. The units also comply with EN 55011-B, EN 55022-B and FCC Class B for conducted emissions (Class A radiated), and meet the IEC 61000-4 immunity and IEC 61000-3-2 harmonic current standards.
