Rugged low-current fuses for applications in battery management and explosive environments introduced by AVX
FOUNTAIN INN, S.C. – KYOCERA AVX Components Corp. in Fountain Inn, S.C., is introducing the Accu-Guard II low-current fuses for high-reliability circuit protection in industrial, energy, utilities, telecommunications, medical, and consumer electronics applications. These fuses also are for use in harsh and potentially explosive environments like gas distribution centers.
The low-current fuses come with 0201 case sizes that deliver low current ratings, and use thin-film technology to achieve precise control over the components' physical and electrical characteristics.
Other applications include battery management systems, battery chargers, rechargeable battery packs, hard disk drives, handheld two-way radios, LCD screens, base stations, computers, tablets, smart phones, medical instrumentation, home appliances, and digital cameras and video cameras.
These power electronics devices deliver extremely low current ratings in compact 0603, 0402, and 0201 packages. The 0201 Accu-Guard II low-current fuses offer current ratings extending from 28 milliamps to 200 milliamps and deliver valuable space savings for applications equipped with small, high-density circuit boards.
These single-use fuses also have a 50-amp interrupt rating and are additionally rated for 32 volts, >1 milliohm post-fusing resistance, and operating temperatures extending from -55 to 125 degrees Celsius.
Other features include lead-free nickel-solder-coated land grid array (LGA) terminations; compliance with ISO 9001, IATF, RoHS, and UL/cUL regulations; and tape-and-reel packaging for automated processing.
