ROME, N.Y. – U.S. Air Force researchers will brief industry this month on a project to develop a secure microcontroller in an application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) form factor for cyber security.

Officials of the Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate in Rome, N.Y., will outline Computational Diversity for Cyber Security (CDCS) program for industry on 12 Dec. at the Griffiss Institute, 725 Daedalian Drive, in Rome, N.Y.

The program will focus on developing an ASIC that will function as a secure microcontroller using computationally diverse software or hardware to deliver unprecedented speed, power consumption, and security, while also addressing the weaknesses associated with storage of cryptographic keys in Flash memory.

The industry briefings will have a general session from 9 to 10 a.m., following check-in at 8:30 a.m. Those attending may schedule 15-minute one-on-one meetings during the event.

Briefings will provide an overview of the cyber security problem space that the CDCS program will address areas of interest, promote an early exchange of information, and provide an opportunity for industry and government to gather more information prior to release of a request for white papers.

Companies interested should register by email no later than 5 Dec. 2018 at [email protected].

Sponsoring the industry briefings are officials of the Information Computing and Communications Division of the Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate in Rome, N.Y.
