Engineers at General Dynamics C4 Systems in Taunton, Mass., needed communications equipment in a ruggedized computer for the U.S. Department of Defense.
They found a solution with Performance Technologies in Rochester, N.Y. General Dynamics is using Performance Technologies’ X.25 Protocol Software and integrated PCI334A WAN Communications Adapter for its Common Hardware/Software III (CHS-3) contract.
The software and hardware provide four synchronous/serial channels for wide-area network connectivity, providing data in rugged applications. For more information, see www.pt.com.
General Dynamics won the Common Hardware/Software III (CHS-3) contract in June 2003, a competitively awarded follow-on program to CHS-2, which has a maximum potential value of $2 billion. For more information from General Dynamics, see http://chs3.gdc4s.com/.
