Engineers at Advanced Communications Systems in Fairfax, Va., needed computer mezzanine boards able to interface with different communication platforms on the U.S. Navy Tactical Satellite Communications Systems. So they chose the CyberShark Industry Pack (IP) Modules from Patriot Scientific Corp. in San Diego, Calif.

Patriot`s CyberShark IP Module enables satellite subsystems to interface with all significant hardware communication standards under software control, such as RS-232 and V.34. The multi-protocol IP Modules will go on Motorola MVME 162 VME single-board computers.

"Patriot Scientific`s CyberShark Modules are a perfect fit with our existing Tactical Satellite Communications Systems and significantly improve our ability to seamlessly communicate," says Kevin Adams, vice president of Advanced Communications. Patriot will deliver 264 IP modules.

Patriot Scientific`s CyberShark product line includes ISA bus-based ATCOMM/PRI ISDN interface card, PCI bus-based FlagShip/PRI ISDN interface card, and CyberShark ISDN terminal adapter for telephony headset/handset applications. - J.M.
