DRS to develop Aegis radar system

Dec. 1, 1997
Engineers at DRS Technologies Inc. of Parsippany, N.J., are developing AN/SPS-67 radar systems for U.S. Navy Arleigh Burke-class destroyers. DRS officials expect future Navy contracts to build AN/SPS-67 radar systems for aircraft carriers and amphibious operation ships. The new radar provides ocean surface surveillance and navigational data, and tracks low-flying aircraft and other targets. It is an important part of the Burke-class destroyer command and control combat system. - J.K.
