TRW delivers anti-jam Milstar antenna

TRW of Redondo Beach, Calif., delivered the first satellite antennas with the ability to detect and defeat electronic interference automatically in real time. the nulling antennas enable tactical users of the Milstar II satellite to communicate at medium data rates without fear of disruption from enemy jammers. The TRW antennas feature gallium arsenide monolithic microwave integrated circuit technology and will integrate into the tactical oriented medium-rate data communications payload that Hughes Space & Communications Co. of El Segundo, Calif., is producing for Lockheed Martin Missiles & Space in Sunnyvale, Calif. - J.K.
