MCLEAN, Va., 15 Dec. 2005. CIBER, Inc. today announced that its Federal Outsourcing Division has won a contract with the U.S. Army's 63rd Regional Support Command (RSC) to assume total technical support of mission-critical information technology (IT) services.

The work includes help desk support and administration of wide area and local area networks, allowing the Army unit to focus its resources on core military initiatives and missions.

Headquartered at the Joint Forces Training Base in Los Alamitos, Calif., the 63rd Regional Readiness Command (RRC) is the command and control headquarters for many active reserve units in the three-state area of California, Arizona, and Nevada.

More than 15,000 active reserve soldiers train monthly and for two contiguous weeks during the year to provide critical skills for the Army in a variety of specialized disciplines, such as medical, engineering, transportation (including watercraft), and combat service support skills. Many of these soldiers have skills and specialties which are well aligned with their civilian occupations, providing additional benefit to the Army and the community.

"CIBER support is imperative in keeping our team focused on our primary objective of organizing, training and preparing mission-capable U.S. Army Reserve units and individual soldiers for the command," said Al Edwards, Chief Information Management Officer for the 63rd RRC.

This is the latest U.S. Army IT-support win for CIBER, including projects for the 88th RRC in Minnesota, the 90th RRC in Arkansas, and the 94th RRC in Massachusetts.

"CIBER's Federal Outsourcing Division is dedicated to providing IT services that meet the unique needs of the Army marketplace," said Ron Smith, vice president and area director for CIBER's Federal Outsourcing Division. "This is another opportunity to demonstrate CIBER's dependability, reliability, and leadership as a partner to our military clients."
