NEW YORK, 18 July 2005. L-3 Communications announced today that its Westwood Corp. subsidiary has received a $24.7 million delivery order from the U.S. Army CECOM Acquisition Center for Tactically Quiet Generators (TQGs).

This order is an add-on to an existing indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (ID/IQ) contract, raising the total value of orders placed to date to $85.8 million. This contract was awarded to L-3 Westwood in September 2001 with ordering years ending in September 2007. This order brings the total number of units ordered to approximately 3,300, with final delivery of current funded orders in 2007. In consideration of current forward deployments of U.S. military assets worldwide, it is anticipated that this contract will grow to approximately $130 million.

L-3 Westwood has been in continuous production of 30 and 60 kilowatt TQGs since 1999, fielding over 4,800 units while completing a previous contract and performing ahead of the contractual requirements on the existing production. This equipment plays a major role in supplying mobile power to the U.S. armed services in support of weapon systems, missile systems and earth satellite terminals, as well as hotel power required for U.S. Air Force BEAR Base needs when electric power from conventional sources is unavailable.

"This order represents the largest single TQG delivery order received to date," said Ernie McKee, president of L-3 Westwood. "We are excited about serving the current critical mobile power needs of the U.S. Armed Services during this period of deployment with a proven quality product."

Mr. McKee continued, "The TQG is used by the U.S. Armed Services in providing mobile power where needed. Our employees are proud to know that our products are being produced to support the men and women in forward-deployed areas and are aware of the importance of supplying the highest quality TQG's."
