YOUNGSVILLE, N.C., 27 April 2005. Law Enforcement Associates Corp. today announced that it has received an order for multiple Under Vehicle Surveillance Systems and spare parts, to be deployed in Iraq by the U.S. Marine Corps.

The units purchased by the Marine Corps will be used in protecting assets and personnel in and around the surrounding areas of Camp Fallujah, Iraq.

The Under Vehicle Inspection System (UVI) provides a clear, high-contrast, real-time video inspection of the undercarriage of cars, vans and trucks at entry points in half the time of the standard inspection mirror search, with a higher percentage of target acquisitions in extended government field tests. It is operational in all climates, and can be set up in under 1/2 hour.

Hundreds are in use at secure facilities worldwide, used to prevent the entry or exit of contraband material from secure facilities, such as: military bases, government buildings, oil refineries, underground garages, nuclear power plants, border checkpoints, embassies, prisons, courthouses, banks/mints, airports/ports, and munitions plants.

The 5591 Series UVI is configured as a rugged, military grade system, with maximum portability and reliability. The system features LEA's new waterproof camera and lighting modules to allow dependable operation in the harshest of environments. Its system controller is rack mounted in a shock resistant aluminum carry/transport case. Also installed in the mil-spec case is a rack mount monitor (available in black & white or color), including an aluminum carry/transport case for the camera housing assembly to allow everything to be pack up in two cases for rapid deployment applications.

Paul Feldman, president of LENF, commented "Law Enforcement Associates is pleased to once again demonstrate that our UVI systems continue to be a key element in the protection of American assets and personnel worldwide. Law Enforcement Associates will continue to be a leading manufacturer and supplier of Electronic Surveillance Equipment, Homeland Security Products and Less Lethal Weapons to law enforcement and governmental agencies worldwide."
