Radian to build intrusion detection system for Army hospital

ST. LOUIS, Mo., 8 April 2005. Engineered Support Systems, Inc. has received a $7.2 million delivery order under its Integrated Commercial Intrusion Detection Systems III (ICIDS III) contract with the U.S. Army Product Manager for Force Protection Systems (PM-FPS).

ST. LOUIS, Mo., 8 April 2005. Engineered Support Systems, Inc. has received a $7.2 million delivery order under its Integrated Commercial Intrusion Detection Systems III (ICIDS III) contract with the U.S. Army Product Manager for Force Protection Systems (PM-FPS).

The order calls for Engineered Support, through its wholly owned subsidiary Radian Inc., to design and install a comprehensive access control, intrusion detection and closed circuit television system at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

The PM-FPS, under the Joint Program Executive Office, Chemical and Biological Defense, awarded the delivery order through the Communications- Electronics Command (CECOM) in Ft. Monmouth, NJ. Radian will perform the work on this delivery order from its Alexandria, Va. headquarters and will provide for the implementation of commercially available security technology to counter a variety of threats against the medical center. The system will be comprised of approximately 600 distinct security zones and will address facilities throughout the campus.

Under the ICIDS III contract, Engineered Support's Radian subsidiary is responsible for the design, installation and maintenance of a wide array of electronic physical security equipment at a number of Army facilities. Radian has supported the PM-FPS in enhancing security under the ICIDS III contract since 2002.
