General Dynamics wins $32 million U.S. Army Corps of Engineers contract for IT management in Afghanistan

FAIRFAX, Va., 4 Sept. 2008. General Dynamics Information Technology, a business unit of General Dynamics, won a contract from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Afghanistan Engineer District (AED) to provide information technology management services in Afghanistan to support USACE-AED reconstruction and infrastructure development programs. The contract has a total potential value of $32 million over five years if all options are exercised.

FAIRFAX, Va., 4 Sept. 2008.General Dynamics Information Technology, a business unit of General Dynamics, won a contract from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Afghanistan Engineer District (AED) to provide information technology management services in Afghanistan to support USACE-AED reconstruction and infrastructure development programs. The contract has a total potential value of $32 million over five years if all options are exercised.

General Dynamics will manage an in-country network and provide critical communications between USACE-AED operations and the continental U.S. The satellite and network communications infrastructure will provide enhanced video, voice, and data communications for USACE-AED operations throughout Afghanistan.
