HERNDON, Va., 11 Feb. 2014. Executives at Consummate Computer Consultants Systems LLC (C3 Systems), a management-consulting firm in Herndon, Va., needed cloud-computing software to help manage various government contracting projects. They found their solution from Deltek Inc. in Herndon, Va.

C3 Systems is choosing the Deltek First cloud computing software from Deltek as the C3 enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. Deltek First uses project management and project accounting software to help companies move applications to the cloud.

Deltek First is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) ERP product for companies like management consultants and government contractors that enables users to unite projects on one cloud computing ERP system, Deltek officials say.

C3 Systems supports federal, state, and local government customers with help in software requirements, process re engineering, enterprise architecture, independent verification and validation (IV&V), and testing.

C3 leaders recognized they had significant challenges with their former time-management and accounting systems that did not meet the needs of its growing business, Deltek officials say.

Not only was C3 unable to integrate the two systems, but it also experienced significant issues getting a clear picture of the business as its company grew and had too many manual processes in place for effective control of its mission-critical data.

“A major challenge we had prior to moving to Deltek was our paid time off (PTO) hours being consistently incorrect using our former time management system," explains Charles Thomas, president and CEO of C3 Systems.

"The PTO hours never calculated properly, and our team had to manually reconcile PTO accruals and balances after each pay period which took an inordinate amount of time that we could spend better elsewhere,” Thomas says. “The level of customer service our vendors were providing us also declined steeply; we no longer wanted to use these inadequate systems to run our business. Simply put, our former systems consistently failed to meet the needs of our growing company.”

C3 needed an expedited implementation because the firm is taking on several new contracts. C3 needed to be up-and-running on Deltek First within 10 calendar days.
