PRODUCT INTELLIGENCE, 3 Aug. 2012.Military, homeland security, public safety, and law enforcement professionals worldwide recognize the ever-present need for diligence and advanced chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive (CBRNE) agent detection devices.

Systems integrators increasingly are requesting adaptive, flexible electronics suitable for meeting today’s constrained budgets and nuclear, biological, and chemicalagent detection requirements well into the future.

CBRNE investment grew in the mid-1990s in the U.S. and has been stable ever since. Europe has reduced CBRNE spending, while CBRNE adoption is growing in the Middle East and the Pacific Rim.

The nature of CBRNE has changed, however. CBRNE devices are no longer just mounted to combat vehicles; in fact, the U.S. Department of Defense is investing in dismounted reconnaissance technologies. Indeed, the demand for compact, portable, handheld agent detection devices is growing.
