SAIC to support U.S. Joint Forces Command

SAN DIEGO, 12 Feb. 2009. Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC) won a task order from the Department of Defense (DoD) to support the U.S. Joint Forces Command (USJFCOM) Joint Capability Development (JCD) Directorate (J8) in the areas of engineering, analysis, test, and evaluation.

SAN DIEGO, 12 Feb. 2009.Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC) won a task order from the Department of Defense (DoD) to support the U.S. Joint Forces Command (USJFCOM) Joint Capability Development (JCD) Directorate (J8) in the areas of engineering, analysis, test, and evaluation.

The task order has a one-year base period of performance with a value of more than $15 million and four one-year options with a total value of more than $81 million, if all options are exercised.

Work will be performed primarily in Arlington, Norfolk, and Suffolk, Va.

The task order was awarded under DoD's Joint Test and Evaluation Engineering Services multiple award task order contracts, awarded and administered by the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center's Contracting Office.

Under this task order, SAIC will provide USJFCOM J8 with analysis and engineering services to help address challenges associated with joint capability development. Work will be performed in the areas of command and control, capability engineering, system engineering, integration focused on architecture driven analysis, capability portfolio management, and net-enabled command capability.

SAIC's work will also support the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS), a decision support system used to define acquisition requirements and evaluation criteria for future defense programs.
