Army night-vision lab awards $1.35 million to EOIR for electro-optic technologies

FORT BELVOIR, Va., March 17, 2006. EOIR Technologies Inc. in Woodbridge, Va., received $1.35 million in incremental funding from the U.S. Army's Night Vision and Electronic Sensors Directorate (NVESD) at Fort Belvoir, Va., for remote sensor technology products and engineering services.

FORT BELVOIR, Va., March 17, 2006. EOIR Technologies Inc. in Woodbridge, Va., received $1.35 million in incremental funding from the U.S. Army's Night Vision and Electronic Sensors Directorate (NVESD) at Fort Belvoir, Va., for remote sensor technology products and engineering services.

EOIR Technologies has an NVESD omnibus contract, awarded last year, that provides a maximum $80 million in fiscal year revenues. EOIR is a wholly owned subsidiary of Technest Holdings Inc.

Many of the products and services being delivered on this contract use next-generation electro-optic and infrared sensor technologies that are supporting U.S. military combat operations.

The Army's NVESD has made key innovations in optical electronics and thermal imaging for weapons targeting, electronic surveillance and other mission-critical military applications.

EOIR Technologies Inc. is working on a range of next-generation technology solutions for the NVESD, including night-vision and advanced sensor applications, test support, and threat-detection systems.
