RESTON, Va., 25 Jan. 2006. Ai Metrix announced that its next-generation network management platform, NeuralStar, will be used by the Joint National Training Capability (JNTC) to support the management and implementation of net-centric communications for live, virtual, and constructive training environments, including war game exercise simulations.

JNTC will be using NeuralStar, through its adoption of the Joint Network Management System (JNMS). NeuralStar is the primary network management software component for JNMS, which is provided by Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC), and employed by the DOD for Joint Task Forces (JTF) deployed around the world and in the war on terrorism.

NeuralStar and JNMS will help support JNTC's effort to create joint warfighting conditions through a networked collection of interoperable training sites and nodes that synthesize personnel, doctrine and technology to achieve combatant commander and service training requirements.

For example, JNTC will launch war game exercises that combine computer simulation with live combat troops, ground artillery, tanks and aircraft located at US bases, garrisons and combat commands. With JNMS, net-centric communications are enabled in war games and other training programs simulating communications from the theater command structure down to the unit command at the network's edge.

JNMS and NeuralStar enable critical "net-centric delay-intolerant" applications across converged JTF networks that combine data, voice, video, wireless, satellite, secure systems and GPS. By employing JNMS to manage its training network, JNTC can simulate actual battlefield scenarios and operations being employed in-theater around the world.

"We're pleased that JNTC has recognized the value of employing NeuralStar and JNMS for war game simulations," said Phil Carrai, president and CEO of Ai Metrix. "With NeuralStar's Integrated Event Resolution (IER) approach, JNTC can better prepare our forces to exploit net-centric networks and applications in live theater operations."

NeuralStar from Ai Metrix is the one network management solution that eclipses traditional "monitor-and-alert" products to deliver Integrated Event Resolution (IER). IER addresses the specific demands of complex, converged networks and net-centric applications such as VoIP and videoconferencing by providing visibility into all network elements (devices, ports, applications and services) and all event domains (fault, performance, security and more) from a single screen.

In addition, NeuralStar enables network professionals to go beyond monitoring to actually take control of network conditions with automated event responses that send management commands directly to affected devices, thus slashing response time and assuring network service levels.

NeuralStar, the one truly scalable platform from the NOC to the desktop, is proven in some of the world's most intensive environments, including Broadwing, Cincinnati Bell, and the U.S. Department of Defense's Ballistic Missile Defense, DISA's Integrated Network Management System (INMS), and the U.S. Joint Task Force's Joint Network Management System (JNMS).
