CHESHAM, England, 29 Nov. 2010. Resolve Optics Ltd. in Chesham, England, is introducing the radiation-hardened model 305 fixed focus non-browning lens for large-image-format cameras and sensors used in environments subject to radiation, such as space research, research reactors, nuclear medicine, nuclear power generation, and nuclear waste processing.
Measuring 30 millimeters in diameter the f2 lens delivers high image resolution and minimum geometric distortion from 400 to 750 nanometers. Manufactured from cerium doped glass or synthetic silica the model 305 lens is able to withstand radiation exposure as high as 108 rads and temperatures to 55 degrees Celsius without discoloration.
Designed to give a 40-degree field of view in the vertical and horizontal planes and 25 Cycles/mm the model 305 lens is able to render images as large as 18 millimeters in diameter. Available with manual or motorized iris, the model 305 provides a focus from 35-millimeters in front of the lens to infinity.
