UH-72A Lakotas to be upgraded for security and support battalion missions by EADS North America
COLUMBUS, Miss., 9 Oct. 2010. The U.S. Army awarded EADS North America a $152 million contract to equip UH-72 Lakota helicopters for security and support battalion missions. The system improvements will be outfitted on UH-72As deployed throughout the U.S. where the Army National Guard Lakota aircraft are stationed. The packages expand the Lakota's use in reconnaissance, border protection, command and control, and air movement operations that support U.S. homeland defense and security missions.
