ANDOVER, Mass., 23 March 2007. The Brick Business Unit of Vicor Corp. in Andover, Mass., announced the addition of nine mid-power Mini DC-DC converters to the 300-volt DC input family (see related story.)
Additions are a 100-Watt model at 2 and 3.3 volts output; as well as 150-Watt models at 5, 12, 15, 24, 28, 36, and 48 volts output.
The modules, which incorporate Vicor's patented low-noise zero-current and zero-voltage switching (ZCS/ZVS), are for applications in defense, aerospace, industrial, process control, distributed power, off-line systems with auto-ranging front ends, medical, ATE, and communications. Low-noise ZCS/ZVS reduces the design effort and filtering costs required for power converters to meet agency conducted emissions requirements.
With these new entries, the 300-volt input Mini family now comprises 17 models with output voltages spanning 2 to 48 volts DC and power levels from 100 to 250 Watts. The converters operate from 300-volt nominal input, with an input range of 180- to 375 volts.
Efficiencies are as much as 89 percent for the higher output voltages. These models are available in five different environmental grades, with six different pin options and three baseplate options. They can be also be configured in any combination using Vicor's PowerBench tools.
