NEW YORK, 29 March 2007. L-3 Communications' WESCAM (L-3 WESCAM) subsidiary has been selected by Agusta Westland to provide 56 MX-15Di turrets as the Electro-Optical Laser Designator system for the United Kingdom's Future Lynx program. System deliveries are slated to begin late in 2009 and will continue through 2014.

The British Army's Battlefield Reconnaissance Helicopters (BRH) and the Royal Navy's Surface Combatant Maritime Rotorcraft (SCMR), Future Lynx's new airframes, will utilize L-3 WESCAM's long-range electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) technology to support maritime, battlefield reconnaissance, and combat missions. In-service dates for Future Lynx are 2013 for the British Army and 2014 for the Royal Navy.

The MX-15Di is part of L-3 WESCAM's MX family of sensor systems, spanning a range of size, weight, and performance parameters. The series uses common components and common interior electronics. The real-time tactical information captured by MX systems is used by military and government agencies for intelligence, surveillance, targeting, and reconnaissance missions worldwide.
