VANCOUVER, B.C., 17 Sept. 2007. Cantronic Systems Inc. has received two orders from an undisclosed customer in Spain for its high-sensitivity thermal imaging camera systems. The total value of these orders is approximately $4 million dollars for a total of 50 sets of long-range security surveillance cameras using cooled infrared detectors.

These latest orders represent the largest single sale of its high-end cooled thermal imaging cameras and successful entry into Western Europe.

Cantronic's infrared detector technology, developed by its recently acquired subsidiary QWIPTECH, contributed to winning the European orders. These cameras will be used for surveillance tasks in airports, ports, and other border premises in both permanent and mobile installations.

"With all the recent acts of terrorism, homeland security and anti terrorism cameras such as our long-range thermal imaging cameras, are receiving increasing interests across Europe, making it another significant market for Cantronic in addition to the U.S.," comments James Zahn, president and CEO of Cantronic Systems.

"We are very encouraged with the success we are having in adopting QWIP-based infrared FPA technology for homeland-security applications. New capabilities and technology are allowing us to tap into the rapidly growing homeland security markets on a global scale," stats James Zahn.
