BAE Systems chooses LaBarge to produce Ethernet Switch Units for Bradley armored combat vehicle

ST. LOUIS, 8 June 2007. LaBarge Inc. in St. Louis, won a $2.4 million contract from BAE Systems to produce the Ethernet Switch Unit (ESU) for its M2A3 Bradley Combat Systems vehicles.

ST. LOUIS, 8 June 2007. LaBarge Inc. in St. Louis, won a $2.4 million contract from BAE Systems to produce the Ethernet Switch Unit (ESU) for its M2A3 Bradley Fighting Vehicles.

The ESU functions as a router and a switch, making local forwarding decisions to devices operated in the vehicle's local area network. LaBarge has manufactured the ESU since 2001.

The Bradley (related story) A3 is a mobile digital fighting system. Bradley A3 communications enable digital information displays for the commander, driver and squad leader.
