FREMONT, Calif., 20 Dec. 2007. Digital Fountain Inc.'s ToughStream streaming video solution will be deployed on Northrop Grumman Corp.Northrop Grumman Corp.'s LITENING advanced targeting (AT) pod system, in use on U.S. government and allied nation aircraft.
The LITENING AT system is a self-contained, multisensor weapon-aiming system that enables aircrews to detect, acquire, auto-track, and identify targes for accurate delivery of conventional and precision-guided weapons. The LITENING AT program is a collaborative effort between Northrop Grumman and Rafael Armament Division.

"Including Digital Fountain's streaming video solution in the LITENING AT system enables us to take advantage of enhanced performance capabilities in order to provide a fully robust, high-performance targeting system to our customers."
ToughStream incorporates Digital Fountain's patented DF Raptor technology, and advanced application layer forward error correction code that corrects "missing" or "lost" data without requiring retransmission from the sender, providing reliable communications even in extreme conditions. By incorporating advanced waveforms and DF Raptor advanced forward error correction coding, packetized video, and metadata connections for the LITENING AT data link system are maintained at maximum range.
ToughStream is a commercial grade, off-the-shelf solution that is data link and radio agnostic, and provides increased levels of streaming video performance.
