A/D converters offer high programmable data rates as fast as 153.6 kilosamples per second, fast programmable data rates, precision, and low noise.

CHANDLER, Ariz. – Microchip Technology Inc. in Chandler, Ariz., is introducing the 24-bit MCP356x and 16-bit MCP346x delta-sigma A/D converter families for sensor transducers and transmitters, industrial process control, and factory automation.

The 24-bit MCP356x and 16-bit MCP346x delta-sigma A/D converter families offer high programmable data rates as fast as 153.6 kilosamples per second, fast programmable data rates, precision, and low noise.

Available in a 3-by-3-millimeter UQFN-20 package, these A/D converters meet increasing demand for small packaging in size, weight, and power consumption (SWaP)-constrained applications such as portable instrumentation devices.

The A/D converters also offer integrated features to eliminate the need for external components and reduce the overall cost of a system, including an internal oscillator, temperature sensor and burnout current source.

The A/D converters provide 24-bit or 16-bit resolution, two/four/eight single-ended, or one/two/four differential channel options to enable developers to choose the most suitable A/D converter for their designs.

The MCP3564 A/D converters evaluation kit (ADM00583) is available to demonstrate the performance of the MCP356x family. The kit includes MCP3564 A/D converter evaluation board for PIC32 MCUs (ADM00583); PIC32MX795F512L PIM; and USB cable.
