The 6E10 switch provides throughput of as much as 6.4 terabits per second between backplane slots of multiple channels of 100 Gigabit Ethernet.

NASHUA, N.H. – Military & Aerospace Electronics and Intelligent Aerospace have recognized Annapolis Micro Systems Inc. in Annapolis, Md., as a platinum-level winner in the publications' 2020 Innovators Awards for the company's WILDSTAR 6E10 6U OpenVPX 100 Gigabit Ethernet switch.

The 6E10 switch provides throughput of as much as 6.4 terabits per second of switching between backplane slots of multiple channels of 100 Gigabit Ethernet. It also has front panel I/O to connect to external data sources.

The 6E10 is a turnkey solution with dense, flexible I/O. Users have the option for seven 40/100 Gigabit Ethernet optical interfaces to VITA 66, or four 40/100 Gigabit Ethernet optical interfaces to the front panel.

The 2020 Military & Aerospace Electronics and Intelligent Aerospace Innovators Awards are to recognize products as solutions to difficult aerospace and defense systems design challenges. The awards are in three tiers: platinum, gold, and silver. The awards were announced on 7 Sept. 2020.

The rugged high-performance switch can be integrated into any Sensor Open Systems Architecture (SOSA)-aligned 6U VPX system, or deployed within the Annapolis WILD100 EcoSystem. Annapolis also has developed a SOSA-aligned 3U VPX switch called the WILDSTAR 3E10 3U OpenVPX switch.

The WILDSTAR 100 Gigabit Ethernet 6E10 6U OpenVPX switch was featured in a live conformance and interoperability demo at the Tri-Service Open Architecture Interoperability Demonstration (TSOA-ID) last January.

The next-generation WILDSTAR 100 Gigabit Ethernet 6E10 6U OpenVPX switch delivers features that include as much as 6.4 terabits per second of switching between backplane slots of multiple channels of 100 Gigabit Ethernet; as much as 26 40/100 Gigabit Ethernet ports; seven optional 40/100 Gigabit Ethernet optical interfaces to VITA 66; four optional 40/100 Gigabit Ethernet optical interfaces to the front panel; air, conduction, or liquid cooling; alignment with the SOSA Technical Standard; and compliance with VITA 65.

These switches are part of the Annapolis SOSA-aligned WILD100 EcoSystem, an interoperable portfolio of rugged high-performance 100 Gigabit Ethernet COTS boards and systems. For more information contact Annapolis Micro Systems online at www.annapmicro.com.
