HARRISBURG, Pa. – TE Connectivity in Harrisburg, Pa., is introducing VPX stacking connectors for military electronics; C4ISR; avionics; ground defense; missile defense; space applications.

The connectors comply to the VITA 46 footprint, and enable users to cable-off the backplane or plug-in card for rugged embedded computing applications.

Stacking connectors perform in environments where small, lightweight, and rugged connectors are critical for reliability in harsh conditions.

TE’s VPX stacking connector matches the footprint of the MULTIGIG RT 2 and MULTIGIG RT 2-R connector and has a 4- and 4.4-millimeter stack height, which fits VITA 46 half modules.

It is versatile enough for a half module or stackable side by side to fill a full connector position. With compliant pin termination on both sides, the connector is suited for rigid flex or board-to-board stacking where a separable interface is not necessary.

The VPX stacking connector makes installation simple with its press-fit application. For more information contact TE online at www.te.com.
