Engineers working on the power system of the much-anticipated Boeing 787 Dreamliner sought specific embedded components and design tools.
They found the needed items at TTTech, a provider of components and tools that not only assist with the design of deterministic real-time systems, but also support system integration and concurrent engineering, located in Tucson, Ariz.
TTTech is providing electronic components for the integration of Hamilton Sundstrand’s electric and environmental control systems in the 787. The company’s time-triggered technologies assist in the power-on sequence aboard the first Boeing 787 Dreamliner passenger jet.
Power-on demonstrates the accurate installation and functioning of systems in the 787. Power-on of electric systems in the Boeing 787 includes integration of Time-Triggered Protocol (TTP)-based distributed control systems. TTTech is delivering design tools, embedded commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products, and platform integration services based on TTP.
Hamilton Sundstrand is developing subsystems for the 787 passenger jet, as well as managing integration and overseeing verification testing and certification of the airplane power system.
