Officials of Vexcel Corp. of Boulder, Colo., are announcing the commercial release of their high-speed data capture system that enables technicians to capture satellite and other high-speed data streams onto computer disks. In the past, downlinked high-speed data required expensive high-density tapes and digital recorders that are not directly computer compatible. The Vexcel Direct Capture System - better known as VxDCS - consists of a UNIX workstation, PCI bus, Vexcel integrated circuit board, disks, and a tape drive for data capture and storage.
